Message from Prof. Wojciech Nowak
The new Rector of Jagiellonian University in Cracow

As a Rector of the Jagiellonian University, I am pleased to continue the work of my predecessor and host Third International Conference on Human Rights Education, looking forward to the Conference as one of the crucial events at our University.

I hope the Conference would enable us to discuss human rights issues and share our educational experience on the subject. But I also hope that thanks to the Conference, new international cooperation possibilities will be opened and more efforts, also academical, will be made to secure human dignity all around the world. Certainly, long-term cooperation between universities, and also between NGOs, governments and international institutions, shall be a very valuable fruit of the Conference.

I'd also like to refer to the tradition of the Jagiellonian University, where serious reflection on the status of a human being and its laws had been initiated by its 15th century Professor and Rector - Paweł Włodkowic. I think that by gathering international speakers and audience together, and by discussing issues fundamental for human existence and well-being, we are continuing and developing his legacy.

I extend a warm welcome to all the renowned speakers and participants of the Conference, looking forward to this special event.

Prof. Wojciech Nowak, Rector of the Jagiellonian University
